A Man Without A Soul
Poetry Collection by Khalid Ajmain
In these pages, you will find the raw ache and gentle hope of a heart in search of its Maker. Each poem is a step along the winding road of self-discovery, surrender, and healing—a journey through brokenness, gratitude, longing, and love. Here, the poet confronts the nafs, wrestles with sorrow and joy, and learns to let go, trusting that every tear and every trial is a doorway to the Divine. This is not just poetry; it is a companion for those who seek meaning in the darkness and light of their own lives, and a reminder that, in the end, we are all travellers returning home to Allah.

Khalid Ajmain’s poems move through grief, anger, and longing, yet always return to the certainty of the Divine Presence. With the voice of a wanderer who has tasted both brokenness and healing, he transforms ordinary streets, memories, and encounters into signs of the Presence. This collection is a rafīq, a companion for seekers of truth, a mirror for the soul, and a reminder that every path, no matter how restless and difficult, ultimately leads home to Allah.

About the Poet
Khalid Ajmain began writing poetry in the stillness of the night — during long, sleepless hours when neuropathy pain kept him awake. Alone in the living room, illuminated only by his phone screen, he wrote quietly over the span of two years. Each poem became a reflection — a prayer, a remembrance, and a conversation with his soul.
In his younger years, Khalid performed with his band Red Kedge and explored the rhythm of life through music. Those moments shaped his sense of expression, teaching him that creativity, like faith, begins from the heart, and that beauty can be found in every state of being.
His journey later led him to Sufism, where he met Shaykh Zakaria Bagharib and other awliyā’ (friends of God). He eventually found his spiritual guide in Shaykh Mahy Cissé and travelled to Medina Baye, Senegal, deepening his path and discovering the true meaning of remembrance, surrender, and love for the Divine.
Through illness, travel, friendship, and faith, Khalid’s poetry captures the beauty found in vulnerability and the mercy hidden in hardship. In A Man Without a Soul, he writes not as one who has arrived, but as a seeker — one who continues the inner journey of confronting the nafs and returning, again and again, to Allah.
